  1. This document contains tips for configuring Winvelope to operate
  2. with the following printers:

  4.     HP Laserjet II/III (and most centerfeed compatibles)
  5.     HP Laserjet IIP/IIIP (and most sidefeed compatibles)
  6.     HP Laserjet 4
  7.     HP Deskjet 500/500c
  8.     HP Deskjet 550c
  9.     Canon Bubblejet Series
  10.     Various Dot Matrix Printers
  11.     High Capacity Envelope Feeders for various lasers
  12.  
  13. You will find additional information and margin settings in the
  14. documentation file, WV43DOC.WRI.

  18. HP LASERJET II/III & CENTER FEED COMPATIBLE INSTRUCTIONS:

  20. Should work without special configuration.  Minor print margin
  21. adjustment to suit individual taste.

  25. HP LASERJET IIP/IIIP & SIDE FEED COMPATIBLE INSTRUCTIONS:

  27. Click the #10 envelope button (check table in WV43DOC.WRI for
  28. margin settings for other envelope sizes) on the left and then
  29. select 'Print Margins' under Winvelope's File menu.  Set the
  30. margins as follows:

  32.     Return Top:    0.1
  33.     Return Left:    1.7
  34.  
  35.     Addressee Top:    1.6
  36.     Addressee Left:    6.0
  37.  
  38.     Message Top:    3.0

  136. Just prior to printing, click the Printer Setup button and select 
  137. ENVELOPE as the paper size.

  139. Place envelope in tray and press the 'ENVELOPE' button on the
  140. deskjet printer, to draw the envelope into printing position.
  141. (this step is not necessary with some printer drivers)

  143. You should now be able to print by clicking the Print Envelope 
  144. button.

  148. DESKJET 550c SERIES INSTRUCTIONS:

  150. Click the #10 envelope button on the left and then select 'Print
  151. Margins' under Winvelope's File menu.  Set the margins as follows:

  172.             the landscape setting here, set it from
  173.             Printer Setup button)

  179. Select LANDSCAPE for orientation and #10 ENVELOPE as the media
  180. size in Printer Setup.  (if you find that your printer driver
  181. recognizes the landscape setting in Winvelope's Printing Defaults
  182. dialog, you can skip setting it here)

  184. You should now be able to print by clicking the Print Envelope
  185. button.

  189. CANON BJ SERIES INSTRUCTIONS:

  191. Select the Business #10 envelope size template and then select 
  192. 'Print Margins' under Winvelope's File menu.  Set the margins 
  193. initially as follows:  (Values in inches)

  196.     Return Left:    0.1

  198.     Addressee Top:    1.8
  199.     Addressee Left:    4.0

  210. Examine the diagram showing the correct location of POSTNET bar 
  211. codes in Winvelope's Help menu.  Print an envelope and adjust the 
  212. margin settings as necessary to obtain the desired effect.  Set 
  213. the margins for other envelope sizes in the same manner.

  232. DOT MATRIX PRINTER INSTRUCTIONS:

  234. Determine from your printer's documentation whether to print
  235. envelopes in portrait or landscape orientation.

  237. Select the Business #10 envelope size template and then select 
  238. 'Print Margins' under Winvelope's File menu.  Set the margins 
  239. initially as follows:  (Values in inches)

  241.     Return Top:    0
  242.     Return Left:    0

  245.     Addressee Left:    4.0

  270. In Windows Printer Setup, select:

  272.     Media Size     [ENVELOPE #10, MONARCH, etc.]
  273.             (if your printer uses a sheet feeder as
  274.              opposed to continuous fanfold paper,
  275.              you may not have to change the media
  276.              size prior to printing.
  277.  
  278.     Source        [depends on printer]
  279.  
  280. If you disable your printer's PAPER OUT sensor, you can in most
  281. cases leave the Media Size to LETTER and save a step.

  283. You should now be able to print by clicking the Print Envelope
  284. button.

  288. HIGH CAPACITY ENVELOPE FEEDERS:
  289.  
  290. If you find that none of the BIN # settings in Winvelope's
  291. Printing Defaults dialog causes your special envelope 
  292. feeder/tray to feed, you will have to select...
  293.  
  294.     (*) Use Windows Printer Setup to select paper source...
  295.  
  296. and choose the correct setting from the Printer Setup button.
